Judith Ann “Judy” Bass, 84, formerly of De Soto, died Oct. 26, 2025, at Scenic Nursing and Rehabilitation in Herculaneum. Mrs. Bass retired as a cook for Hillsboro R-3 Public School. Born Nov. 10, 1940, in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Leonard Guess and Marguerite (Montgomery) Guess.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Willard Roosevelt Bass.
She is survived by two sons: Bryan K. Harrison of De Soto and James W. (Ronda) Harrison of Hillsboro; three grandchildren: Zachary (Amanda) Harrison, Cody (Tana) Harrison and Carter (Deidra) Harrison; two great-grandchildren: Savana and Levi; siblings: Shirley Kay (Al “Buggs”) Huskey of De Soto, Alice Marguerite (Keith) Shelton of Poplar Bluff and Mary Fay (Clyde) Reed of Piedmont; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a sister: Iris Lee Giacomo; and a brother: Arthur Glen Guess.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Trent Sheerin. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
