Joshua Michael “Cool Josh” Rhees, 38, of De Soto died Sept. 20, 2026, in St. Louis. Mr. Rhees was known as a one-of-a-kind soul. He loved fishing, being outdoors at the Big River, playing his guitar, Mustangs and anything with a little speed and excitement. He had a love for animals, especially kittens, birds, fish and sharks and he was deeply connected to nature. Most of all, he loved spending time and making many memories with his friends and family, especially his son. He will be remembered for his loving heart and his individuality. Born July 28, 1988, in St. Louis, he was the son of Sista Nancy Ann (James Mullins) Marley of De Soto and the late Mark Douglas Rhees.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son: Camrin Rhees of St. Louis; two brothers: Timothy (Tara) Nahm of Affton and Mathew Rhees of Barnhart; two sisters: Lisa (Chris) Noerper of Cedar Hill and Jordan (Jordan) White of De Soto; and numerous other family members and friends.
Services are private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Regional Suicide Prevention Coalition at stlsuicideprevention.org. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
