Johnny Wesley Price, 78, of Festus died June 17, 2026, at his home. Mr. Price was a Christian and a longtime member of Charter Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, drove the church van and served as a deacon for 35 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born Oct. 6, 1947, in Center, Ark., he was the son of the late Lorene (Goforth) and Homer Price.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Jeanie (Lee) Price; two sons: John (Sheri) Price of Bonne Terre and Jeff (Lana) Price of O’Fallon; a daughter: Jeneice (Denis) Roth of Festus; eight grandchildren: Johnathan (Shawday) Price of De Soto, Jerry (Michelle) Payne of Herculaneum, Julianne Price of Festus, Courtney Kleinschmidt of Imperial, Tyler (Chloe) Price of Fenton, Candice Kleinschmidt of Festus, Tycen Price of St. Charles and Jacob Secrease of De Soto; four great-granddaughters: Azalea Maddox, Lily Price, Sophia Payne and Aerie Price; and a great-grandson: Clayton Payne due to arrive in September; a brother: Steve Price of Washington; two sisters: Polly (the late Jesse) Crutchfield of Wappapello and Barbara Smith of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Jack Price, James Price, Leon Price, Mack Price and Jerry Price; and two sisters: Ella Elder and Annalee Buckingham.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at noon Wednesday, June 24, at Charter Baptist Church, 15267 Hwy. T, Festus, officiated by Pastor Chris Goodwin. Interment will follow in Charter Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), online at breakthrought1d.org. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
