Holke, John

John C. Holke, 68, of St. Louis died Sept. 29, 2025. Mr. Holke was a dedicated engineer by profession, where he showed curiosity and precision. He was a proud member of the Delta Chi Fraternity and cherished the lifelong friendships he made there. He also built many friendships in his early days at Holy Family Grade School. An avid sports fan who also had a particular fondness for puzzles, he was known for his quick wit and competitive spirit. He will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and his love for family, friends and tradition. Born Dec. 14, 1956, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Bernice (Klevorn) and Roger Holke.

He is survived by three siblings: Carolyn (Bill) Wahl, Roger (Dody) Holke and Terrie (Dave) Kluskowski; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Hagen.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Delta Chi Foundation, 3845 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
