Jo Ann (Adkins) Thomas, 74, of Herculaneum died Feb. 20, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Thomas worked for many years as the fabric department supervisor at Walmart. In her free time, she enjoyed watching The Walking Dead and Harry Potter, crafting, sewing, quilting and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Born Nov. 6, 1951, in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Juanita (Estep) Adkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Michael Thomas.
She is survived by three sons: Michael (Sarah) Thomas Jr. of Crystal City, Joshua (Stephanie) Thomas of Crystal City and Benjamin (Jason) Thomas of Hillsboro; a brother: Jack (Valerie) Adkins of St. Clair; a sister: Judy (David) Redman of High Ridge; a brother-in-law: Herman Beyer of Dittmer; 10 grandchildren: Samantha (Gerald), Sarah (Tyler), James (Myranda), Alexis (Nick), Destiny, Emily (Joey), Brianna (Josh), Joshua Jr., Brayden and Jordan; 10 great-grandchildren: Michael, James F., Aubree, Leo, Jameson, Chloe, Brody, Grayson, Waylon and Delilah; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Toni Thomas; a sister: Alberta Beyer; and a grandson: Jayden Thomas.
Visitation is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. until services at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton. Memorials may be made to the local hospice of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
