Jess Avery Yount, 94, of Arnold died July 10, 2026. Mr. Yount was a Korean War veteran and the Missouri State Horseshoe Champion. Born March 7, 1932, in Harrisburg, Ark., he was the son of the late Jess O. and Avis (Evans) Yount.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Romola Yount.
He is survived by four children: David (Susan) Yount, Renee (Kurt) Bolliger, Doug Yount and Ken (Laura) Yount; 13 grandchildren: Chris (Heather) Hopkins, Nicole (Alex) Haase, Wendy (Michael) Laney, Joy (Harold) Banich, Lori (Brad) Skredenske, Stephanie Moore, Eric Bolliger, Kory (Lauren) Bolliger, Katie Bolliger, Kara Bolliger, Jessica (Kent) Gideon, Heather Henningfeld and Marrisa Yount; 23 great-grandchildren: Alixandria, Garrett, Jessica, Taylor, Benjamin, Jaelynne, Ellie, Jericho, Zavier, Porter, Konner, Harold III, Rebecca, Everett, Virginia, Chase, Lila, Emelia, Autumn, Kent, Kylie, Jackson and Lily; five great-great-grandchildren: Emma, Marleigh, Archer, Octavia and Luna; six siblings: Eithel Wallace, Wanda Faulkner, Jerry Yount, John Yount, Frank Yount and Larry Yount; and many other family members and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three siblings: Tom, Jim and Gerald Yount.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
