Janet Elizabeth Randen, 78, of Festus died Oct. 4, 2024, at Cedarhurst Senior Living in Farmington. Mrs. Randen was a member of Herculaneum-Pevely Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Jan’s Beauty Shop in Festus until she and Paul retired to Lake of the Ozarks. She enjoyed roller-skating and playing the accordion in her younger years. She also enjoyed trout fishing at Montauk State Park with her family and traveling in their RV. After retiring, she enjoyed making flower arrangements which she sold at a shop on the Bagnell Dam strip. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, friends and her extended grandkids. Born April 7, 1946, in Poway, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Peggy (Dively) and John Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Paul Randen; a son: Jonathan Paul Randen of Festus; a sister: JoAnn (the late Dwayne) Hess of St. George, Utah; and a granddaughter: Hayley Shay Randen of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by a son: Christopher Michael (Laura survives of Cape Girardeau) Randen.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from noon until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Purvis, pastor of Herculaneum-Pevely Baptist Church. Burial is scheduled for a later date in the Herculaneum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
