James Anthony “Jim” Bieg, 86, of De Soto died March 17, 2025, at his rural farm in De Soto. Mr. Beig worked as a plumber before retiring to his farm where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. Born April 19, 1938, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late August and Adella (Bugger) Bieg.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara (Luechtefeld) Bieg.

He is survived by a son: Thomas (Dana) Beig; two daughters: Suzanne (Bryon) James and Lorianne Beig; 12 grandchildren: Tom, Madison, Tanner and Trevor Bieg, Andrew (Helen), Ashley and Adrian Ziegler, Jessica (Geoff) Allen, Kristen (Drew) Webb, Jenna (Brett) Clinton, Ethan Stewart and Andrew James; five great-grandchildren: Nathan Ziegler, Ellie and Max Allen and Charlotte and Owen Clinton; a brother: Anthony (Diana) Bieg; a sister: Virginia Bieg; his girlfriend of 15 years: Arlene Talken; and many other family members and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son: Matthew Bieg; and 12 siblings.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel, 103 4th St., in Hillsboro. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 3rd St., in Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Bieg Farm Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel.
