Van Mierlo, Jacqueline ‘Jackie’

Jacqueline Helen "Jackie" (Mraz) Van Mierlo, 84, of Fenton died Sept. 30, 2026. Ms. Van Mierlo was known as a strong, independent woman who believed in doing things for herself whenever she could and rarely asked anyone for something she could do on her own. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Fenton. She took pride in her home and enjoyed gardening, caring for her surroundings and listening to music. Most of all, she loved making memories and spending time with her family, especially her children and granddaughter. She will be remembered for her loving heart, strength and the way she cared for her home and those she loved. Born Nov. 16, 1941, in Fenton, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary (Novotny) Mraz.

She is survived by two children: Julie Van Mierlo Latona of Puerto Rico and Robert Van Mierlo Jr. of Fenton; four siblings: Vernell Duda of Fenton, Vera Riebold of Barnhart, Janet Franke of Fenton and Pamela Mraz of Ladue; a grandchild: Lauren Taylor Latona of Spokane, Wash.; and many other family members and friends.  

She was preceded in death by a child: Timothy Paul Van Mierlo; and five siblings: Norbert Duda, Alvin Riebold, Donald Mraz, Butch Mraz and David Mraz.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Fieser Funeral Home, 401 Gravois Road, in Fenton. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Drive, in Fenton. Interment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fieser Funeral Home.
