Gloria A. Meyer, 86, of Arnold died Jan. 12, 2024, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mrs. Meyer worked as a registered nurse. Born June 4, 1937, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Irene and George Larkin Van Cleave Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years: Gilbert "Gil" Meyer of Arnold; two children: Steven (Betty) Meyer of Herculaneum and Sharon (Shawn) Sherrill of Fenton; six grandchildren: Josh (Cindy) Meyer of Clarksville, Tenn., Phil (Lyndsay) Duffe of Arnold, Bradley (Sandra) Sherrill of Arnold, Sydney Meyer of Columbia, Savannah Meyer of Herculaneum and Jacob Sherrill of Fenton; seven great-grandchildren: Addison, Emmylou and Ava Meyer of Clarksville, Tenn., Tyler, Luke and Drew Duffe of Arnold and Emmy Sherrill of Arnold; a sibling: Diane Klingerman of St. Louis; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a child: Ann Duffe; a great-grandson: Owen Sherrill; and two siblings: Margorie Van Cleave and George Van Cleave Jr.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
