Gerald James Jones, 89, of Arnold died Feb. 13, 2026. Mr. Jones was a Jefferson County Water District 3 board member and worked for the Bricklayers' Union Local 1 of Missouri AFL-CIO. He attended Assembly of God Church. Born Oct. 27, 1936, in Advance, he was the son of the late Ruth (Hitt) Jones and William Lewis Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years: Joyce (Spears) Jones.
He is survived by five children: Kim (Don) Woodruff of Florissant, Diane (Tim) Dillon of Magnolia, Texas, Sonnie (John) Creech of Barnhart, Tracy Estell of St. Louis and Dawn (Kent) Sellers of Arnold; 12 grandchildren: Rocky Jones of Antonio, Nick Dillon of Hurst, Texas, Andrea Castillo of Spring, Texas, Alex Estell of Webster Groves, Rachel Moore of Houston, Texas, Blake Sellers of Columbia, Emily Gapsch of Silverton, Colo., Danielle Creech of Affton, Kevin Woodruff of St. Peters, Gabe Estell of Littleton, Colo., Brittany McKeen of Festus and Mikayla Sellers of Arnold; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sibling: Sharon (Charles) Gass of Jackson.
He also was preceded in death by two siblings: Billy Jones and Lyle Jones.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at People’s Church Assembly of God, 1770 Missouri State Road, in Arnold, officiated by the Rev. Boyd Brooks. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Advance.
