Gerald E. Roettger, 84, of Hillsboro died March 2, 2025. Mr. Roettger retired from Spire Gas. Born Sept. 26, 1940, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Edward Roettger and Estelle G. (Yount) Roettger.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Geertje (Mattijsen) Roettger of Amsterdam, Netherlands, whom he married on Dec. 4, 1964, in Amsterdam; a son: Peter (Sandy) Roettger of Hillsboro; four grandchildren: Ashley Jones of Hillsboro, Stephanie (Devon) Scott of Bonne Terre, Bradley Roettger of Hillsboro and Rebecca Roettger of Hillsboro; a sister: Virginia (Dan) Mitchell of Minneapolis; and many other family members and friends.
Mr. Roettger was cremated. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
