Georgia (Anderson) Fugate, 93, of Dittmer died March 16, 2025. Mrs. Fugate was known for her strong faith, kindness and compassion. She enjoyed solving word searches and crosswords to help keep her mind sharp. She was a caretaker and had a love for animals, especially dogs and cats. She also enjoyed watching game shows and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth and positivity. Born Jan. 30, 1932, in Breathitt County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Noah and Nellie (Taulbee) Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Estill Fugate.
She is survived by four children: Dale (Laura) Fugate, Peggy (Kerry) Peterman, Terry Fugate and Donna (Kevin) Baran; seven grandchildren: Mindy Chodrick, Jeffrey Chiverton, Terri Price, Nichole Fugate, Amy Stokka, Amber Katzberger and Doug Deegan; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Ida Deegan; a grandson: Bobby Chiverton; and six siblings: Hazel Craft, Dessel Haynes, Junior Bach, Edwin Bach, Alma Heisler and Blanche Pisciotto.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
