George Raymond Krodinger, 91, of De Soto died Feb. 5, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Krodinger served in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter with the Local Union 2214. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of De Soto and a licensed gardener. He enjoyed woodworking, farming, hunting, camping, fishing and being outdoors. Born May 6, 1932, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Lillian D. (Smith) and George H. Krodinger.
He is survived by his wife: Rose (Higgins) Krodinger; six children: Brenda (Jim) Ruch of Festus, Vickie (Darreld) Pratt of Festus, Nancy (Chris) Oberle of Festus, Connie (Terry) Ford of Hillsboro, Jack (Leslie) Warden of Kirkwood and Anthony Warden of De Soto; 13 grandchildren: Alex, Dustin, Jessie, Cheyenne, Ryan, Adam, Katie, Terry Jr., Eric, Krystal, Abbie, Aaron and Grace; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: C. Rob Warden; two sisters: Pearl (the late Anthony) Torrence and Vivian (the late Robert) VivRett; and a grandson: Shawn Warden.
A gathering is scheduled from 9:30 until a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 3rd St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Vince Nyman. Burial with military honors will take place in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
