George Joseph Winters Jr., 91, of Imperial died Sept. 12, 2026. Mr. Winters was an Army veteran and retired from Central Hardware. He loved Jesus, his family and friends and making people smile. Born June 30, 1935, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late George Winters Sr. and Mary F. (Watkins) Winters.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Marian Winters.
He is survived by four children: Michelle (Bill) Grill, Mike Winters, Mindy (Tim) Bauer and Matt (Tania) Winters; eight grandchildren: Jessica (Jared) Mather, Billy Grill, Kyle (Tara), Matthew and Alyssa Bauer, Abby, Sarah and Matthew Winters; four great-grandchildren: Autumn Grill, Conner and Camryn Mather and his littlest buddy, Tinsley Bauer; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by a son: George Winters III.
A memorial Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Sr. Christine’s Food Pantry.
