Gene Ervin Bieser, 82, of Festus died March 8, 2025, at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre. Mr. Bieser served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. A lifelong Ste. Genevieve County farmer who was known for his handyman skills, he also was a mechanic, dispatcher and truck driver for Kleinschmidt Trucking, and a bus driver for the Athena and De Soto schools. Born Aug. 4, 1942, in Ste. Genevieve County, he was the son of the late Bernetta Virginia (Sickman) and Harry Carl Bieser.
He is survived by his wife: Rebecca (Sullens) Bieser; a daughter: Lisa (Bryan) Crider of Festus; a son: Carl Bieser of Festus; a brother: Larry (Kathleen) Bieser; two granddaughters: Destiny (Andrew) Bassin of Crystal City and Ashley Crider of Ste. Genevieve; and a great-grandson to be born in June.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the CIA Hall, 13466 Hwy. JJ, in De Soto. Burial will be at a later date in the Sullens Family Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
