Gary Arden Wynn, 76, of Hillsboro died Oct. 30, 2025, at his home. Mr. Wynn retired as a field warranty specialist for the Daimler Chrysler Corp. He was a devoted and active member of the Joachim Lodge in Hillsboro for more than 50 years, where he served as past master. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Scottish Rite and the Shriners. A man of many talents and passions, Mr. Wynn was the drummer and vocalist for the band Creek Water Express. He enjoyed target shooting, spending time with his family and friends and being a “Papa” to his grandchildren. He was known for his great sense of humor. He will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, laughter and dedication to those he loved. He was born May 2, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Sara Ann (Williams) Wynn, whom he married on Jan. 26, 1971; two children: Michael “Scott” (Laura) Wynn and Kerry Elizabeth Wynn (Timothy) Horton; four grandchildren: Ethan Horton, Elizabeth Horton, Steven Dudley and Seaman Ethan Dudley; a great-grandchild: Roslyn Dudley; two siblings: Kay (John) Raisch and Kirk Wynn; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Joachim Masonic Lodge 164, 10798 Hwy. 21, in Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel in Hillsboro.
