Wingbermuehle, Eugene

Eugene Wingbermuehle, 86, of Hillsboro died Dec. 20, 2024, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Home in Crystal City. Mr. Wingbermuehle worked as a truck driver, was a long-time youth coach and a member of the Meramec Arnold Elks. He also was the assistant chief of the Rock Community Fire Protection District and served on the History Committee. Born April 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Adele (Tiefenbrunn) and William Wingbermuehle.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Dolores A. (Daum) Wingbermuehle.

He is survived by two children: Kim (Steve) Carey and Tim (Valleri) Wingbermuehle, both of Hillsboro; six grandchildren: Ashley (Casey) Hodges, Jake (Roschella) Carey, Brock Wingbermuehle, Kennedy Wingbermuehle, Reese Wingbermuehle and Eli Wingbermuehle, all of Hillsboro; three great-grandchildren: Charlotte “Charlie” and Michael “Mac” Hodges and Levi Carey; and many other family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by a child: Lynn Wingbermuehle.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
