Rose, Elaine

Elaine Joyce Rose, 83, of Flemington died Oct. 5, 2025, in Valley Park. Mrs. Rose owned and operated Cedar Hill Hardware with her husband for many years. She also owned her business, Rosewood Beauty Salon, where she was known for her talent and warm personality. She was a Girl Scout leader and a leader of the Cedar Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, fishing, camping, boating, sewing, sitting down for a game of cards and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her selflessness and the warmth she brought to others. Born Jan. 26, 1942, in Wichita, Kan., she was the adopted daughter of the late Erwin and Jewell (Walker) Viehland.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Russell L. Rose.

She is survived by three daughters: Christina Rose, Michelle “Micki” (Chris) Jegel and Denise (John) Pagano; six grandchildren: Lindsay (Christopher) Jegel-Hermann, Eric (Racheal) Jegel, Kyle (Abby) Horstmann, Andrew (Sydney) Pagano, Colin Horstmann and Lauren (Erik) Hoffman; two great-grandchildren: Camille Hermann and Wesley Hermann; a sister: Joyce Viehland; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: David Viehland and Ervin Viehland.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until services at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
