Edna Wilhelmena (Heberlie) Nanney, 95, of Hillsboro died June 7, 2024, in De Soto. Mrs. Nanney was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and Good News Community Church. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, determination and love for life. Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Ste. Genevieve, she was the daughter of the late Hershel M. and Mary Rose (Harter) Heberlie.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Charlie S. Nanney.
She is survived by a son: Charles E. (Nena) Nanney of De Soto; two daughters: Teresa Reissing of Hillsboro and Karla (Tom) Elliott of Festus; eight grandchildren: Sarah (Clint) McGrath, Christopher Elliott, Aric (Jennifer) Elliott, Michael (Brittany Nolle) Elliott, Steven (Kaitlyn) Elliott, Nicholas (Alyssa) Elliott, Maria (Jon) Truesdale and Melissa (Derek) Duson; nine great-grandchildren: Asher, Miles, Charlee, Linley, Henry, Lena, Vivienne, Olive and Evelyn; three sisters: Mary Heberlie, Monica Brewer and Dolores Krause; and two brothers: Wilfred Heberlie and Butch Heberlie.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Hank Heberlie, Marcellus Heberlie and Martin Heberlie.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 4th St., in Hillsboro. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 23504 State Route WW, in Coffman. Burial will follow in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Smile Train. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
