Gasser, George

George Martin Gasser III, 73, of Farmington died Feb. 28, 2025. Dr. Gasser was a physician, having graduated from Potosi High School and continued his education at what is now Truman State University and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He achieved dual board certification in Family Practice and Obstetrics & Gynecology and delivered countless babies during his career. Throughout his life, he supported several charities and became an organ donor. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed automobiles and World War II history. He also enjoyed being outdoors, including gardening and tending to his tractor, “Old Blue,” grilling and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a lifelong learner and a great storyteller who often shared his sense of humor with those close to him. Born March 20, 1951, in Kirksville, he was the son of the late Lillian and Dr. George Gasser. 

He is survived by his wife: Robin; three children: Courtney (Kevin), Breanna (Rocky) and George IV (Alix); and three grandchildren: Joey, Dylan and Charlee Paige.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Greg. 

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Cozean Memorial Chapel, 217 W. Columbia St., in Farmington. Memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers or to MidAmerica Transplant. Arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
