Dorothy Mae White, 91, of Festus died Feb. 9, 2025, at Hillcrest Nursing Center in De Soto. Mrs. White retired from Spielberg Manufacturing in Barnhart, and she was a long-time member of Sacred Heart and Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. Born July 4, 1933, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Ponzar) Lassing and Edward Lassing.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew White.
She is survived by three sons: Stephen (Carol) White of Raymore, David (Stephanie) White of Oakville and Keith (Joyce) White of Herculaneum; two daughters: Cecilia (Mark) Johnston of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Jennifer (John) Gerlica of Imperial; two sisters: Charolotte (the late Jim) Eckert of Greenwood, Ind., and Joyce (the late Gary) Winkler of Eureka; 11 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Albert) Miller, Crystal (Gary) Landers, Amber (Jeremy) Welborn, Courtney White, Scott White, Dustin (Kannesha Bingham) White, Mark (Mariana) Johnston II, Mathew (Bobbi) Johnston, Jeffery Johnston, Kimberly (Keith) Jarvis and Michelle (Joe) Yount; 25 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Rachel, Daniel, Maria, Caleb, Samantha, Laura, Bethany, Benjamin, Drew, Emily, Nick (Abagail), Payton, Bianca, Kyle, Abigail, Liam, Holly, Isabel, Emma, Maddy Beth, Andi, Gemma, twins Caroline and Callie and one more great-grandchild on the way; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Don Lassing; and a grandson: Joshua Doty.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Father Stephen Lian of Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
