Doris G. Brooks, 83, of De Soto died July 13, 2026, at Stone Bridge Nursing Center in De Soto. Ms. Brooks was a member of Plattin Methodist Church and the Jobes Daughters. She worked as a waitress at Callahan Southern Kitchen. Born Aug. 10, 1942, in Victoria, she was the daughter of the late Freda (Hoffman) and Milton Hill.
She is survived by five children: Jodi D. (Robert) Bruns of Festus, Tina R. Clark of De Soto, Vicki S. (Bryan) Surrell of Huntersville, N.C., Michael L. Brooks of De Soto and Libby A. (Jason) Brooks of De Soto; a sister: Ruth (Donald) Barnett of Hillsboro; a brother: Donald (Vickye) Hill of Cadet; 19 grandchildren: Allison, Brandon, Nick, Abbi, Maddie, Jason, Brad, Jessica, Chard, Jessica, Zack, Vanessa, Dillon, Landon, Damon, Della, Ariana, Ryan and Grace; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: John J. Hill; siblings: Mildred H. Hill, Ethel Johnson, June Harding, Fay (the late Charles) Vaccaro, Bob (the late Marge) Hill, Glenn Hill, Kenneth (Karen survives of Barnhart) and Jim (the late Kathryn) Hill.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Thursday, July 16, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Graig Connell. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Plattin Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
