Viehland, Delbert

Delbert Edwin Viehland, 71, of Cedar Hill died Sept. 4, 2025. Mr. Viehland was known for his dedication to family, hard work and community service. He was a retired Teamster with Local 682. In retirement, he pursued his passion for collecting Farmall tractors, attending car shows and spreading joy by portraying Santa Claus at local community events. He was a more than 30-year member and past president of the House Springs Lions Club, a dedicated Cedar Hill Fire Board Member for more than 30 years and an active supporter and volunteer with organizations including the Peace Pantry, the Democratic Club and the Old St. Patrick Rock Church Picnic. He was a lifelong member of St. Martin United Church of Christ in Dittmer. He will remember him for his kindness, willingness to help those in need and his good-natured teasing, all while living life with purpose and heart. He was born July 6, 1954.

He is survived by two children: Chad (Stella) Viehland and Ryan (Kayla) Viehland; four grandchildren: Chase and Cooper Viehland and Nixon and Everly Viehland; and many other family members and friends.  

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the Peace Pantry or St. Martin UCC. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
