Poley, David

David Ray Poley Sr., 87, of Imperial died Aug. 2, 2026. Mr. Poley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Bakers Union Local 4. He was an avid NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching Mizzou basketball games. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing at Bull Shoals with family and friends. He also loved trips to the beach and visits to local wineries. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Born Dec. 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Lucy Mae (Coffer) Poley and George T. Poley.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Helen Poley.

He is survived by two sons: David R. (Tina) Poley Jr. and Theodore G. (Christina) Poley; a daughter: Audrea (Martin) Lamb; seven grandchildren: Kyle Poley, Corey Lamb, Maddie (Chris) Steffe, Christian Lamb, Megan (Joe) Cisneros, Morgan (Jordan) Casper and Mackenzie Lamb; five great-grandchildren: Kryslyn Poley, Kyndryk Poley, Oakley Steffe, Clover Lamb and Grayson Cisneros; two sisters: Wilma Sterling and Betty Allen; and many other family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by his brother: Paul Thomas Poley.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Interment with military honors will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel.
