Lambert, David

David Lee Lambert Sr., 82, of Festus died April 3, 2026, at his home. Mr. Lambert was a retired auto mechanic, having worked for the Isenman and Kordsmeyer Ford dealerships in Festus and Ameren. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW 3777, Eagles 4341, Amvets 42 and Elks 1721. He served as an honor guard for the VFW and American Legion for many years. He enjoyed playing pool, camping, riding motorcycles with his friends and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Born Oct. 24, 1943, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Hallie Lee (Sherman) and Byron A. Lambert. 

He is survived by his wife: Emma “Jayne” (Marberry) Lambert; two sons: David (Julie) Lambert of Festus and Mark (Michelle) Lambert of Festus; a daughter: Melissa (Bernie) Finnegan of Marlin, Texas; seven grandchildren: Alexa, Brianna, Nathan, Brock, Cody, Daniel and Drew; and six great-grandchildren: Brantley, Denver, Axel, Dakota, Esther and Tracey Jr.

He was preceded in death by a brother: James (Gail survives) Boyd Lambert; and a sister: Mary Ann (the late Glenn) Lucas. 

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Randy Gray, Pastor of Radiant Life Church in Festus. Burial with full military honors will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
