Daniel Joseph “Danny” Gosney, 44, of Festus died Dec. 29, 2025. Mr. Gosney was a 2000 Festus High School graduate, where he was a multisport athlete and earned the “Mr. Football 1999” award. He worked for Hartman-Walsh Painting Co. for many years and was a member of Painters Local 1199. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and deer hunting with his dad and extended deer camp family. He also enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and St. Louis Blues Hockey, cheering for his children at their sporting events and spending time with family and friends. Born Nov. 30, 1981, in St. Louis, he was the son of Daniel Karl and Jill Marie (Green) Gosney of Festus.
He is survived by two daughters: Riley Grace and Layne Levi; his partner: Jessica Marie Davenport of Festus; his partner’s children: Thomas Anthony and Lincoln Michael; a sibling: Dawn (Billy) White; and many other family members and friends.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. and includes a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge 1721, 4 Elks Drive, in Festus. Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital or P.A.T.C.H. Arrangements are under the direction of Fieser Funeral Home in Fenton.
