Colby D. Whitehead, 57, of Hillsboro died Feb. 28, 2024. Mr. Whitehead was a retired supervisor for the Jefferson County Highway Department. He enjoyed attending rock and mineral shows. He also enjoyed music, especially attending shows for tribute bands. Born Jan. 2, 1967, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Celeste Faye (Williams) and Fred Donald Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife: Kristine A. (Kain) Whitehead of Hillsboro; four daughters: Lauren K. Whitehead of Hillsboro, Emily Whitehead of Hillsboro, Nicole (Andrew O’Laughlin) Hickman of Arnold and Amanda Hickman of Arnold; two siblings: Tamara (Richard “Butch”) Graham of Hillsboro and Blaine (Kelly) Whitehead of Hillsboro; four brothers-in-law: Robert (Ann) Kain of St. Louis, Richard (Susan) Kain of St. Louis, Kurtis (Carrie) Kain of Cape Coral, Fla., and Kevin (Jeanne) Kain of St. Louis; several other family members; four dogs: Lucy, Penny, Mia and Piper; and a cat: Chester.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until services at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
