Clifton “Cliff” Massie, 78, of Hillsboro died Aug. 19, 2025. Mr. Massie was a retired postal carrier and worked in the St. Louis area for the USPS. He was a life member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and was the proud recipient of a 50-year gold card. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and listening to music, especially Elvis, and he often quoted “Thank you. Thank you very much!” Every morning, he looked forward to seeing his extended family for breakfast. He will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. Born Oct. 27, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Draper) Massie.
He is survived by a daughter: Tina (Eric) Achenbach; a sister: Marilyn Angel; a sister-in-law: Phyillis Massie; four grandchildren: Emily, Jackie, Savannah and Nicholas; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Jason Massie; a brother: Ronald Massie; and a brother-in-law: John Angel.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel in Hillsboro.
