Carl J. Whitehead, 82, of Hillsboro died March 1, 2026, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Born Oct. 13, 1943, in De Soto, Mr. Whitehead was the son of the late Charles Whitehead and Ruth (Oatman) Braverman.
He is survived by a niece and her husband: Mary (Doug) Birch of Hillsboro and their daughters, Amanda and Miranda Birch, and their granddaughter, Aria.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Martha (Harvey “Jim” Sr.) Thomas; and a nephew: Harvey Thomas Jr.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
