Carl Eugene Floyd, 86, of House Springs died March 9, 2024. Mr. Floyd retired from Chrysler in 1991. In his retirement, he enjoyed doing upholstery work, going camping and boating. However, his favorite pastimes included bargain shopping, eating at buffets, going to the casino and spending time with family and friends. Born Nov. 3, 1937, in Kennett, he was the son of the late Flora Grace (Dark) and Ernest Floyd.
He is survived by a brother: Jerry (Connie) Floyd of Cedar Hill; a sister: Barbara Johnson of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter: Monica (Mark) Freeman of Naples, Fla.; a son: Kevin (Shari) Floyd of High Ridge; five grandchildren: Megan (Ryan) Bonacker, Cody (Nicholas) Floyd-Aether, Dustin Freeman, Courtney Krake and Robyn McKindley; four great-grandchildren: Rhett and Reed Bonacker, Penny Krake and John McKindley; a family friend: Danny Faulkner; and his dog: Buddy.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Harold and Willard Floyd; a sister: Luella Bradish; and a daughter: Kimberly Floyd.
A celebration of life is scheduled for a later date with a private graveside service to follow. In the spirit of Mr. Floyd’s love for the casino, memorials may be made by putting pennies in a slot machine and trying your luck.
