Billie Joe Price, 87, of Festus died Feb. 25, 2024, at his home. Mr. Price was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He liked watching Westerns and reading Western books. Born Nov. 17, 1936, in Pernell, Okla., he was the son of the late Armer (Brister) and William Smith Price.
He is survived by his wife: Susan (Noble) Price; two daughters: Cynthia (Price) Snyder of West Monroe, La., and Polly (Price) Hidalgo of Festus; a sister: Gertrude (Price) Thomason of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren: Richard, Stephen and Jennifer Snyder, Robert, Miguel, Santigo, Alejandro, David, Amanda, Aurelia, Avel and Isabella Hidalgo; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son: Joey Price; five brothers: Andrew Price, Lesley, Everett, Freddie and Clarence Turner; five sisters: Era (Price) Morrison Rahn, Ollie Mae (Price) Wickersham, Rine Ella Turner, Stella Turner and an unnamed stillborn sister.
Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the VFW. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
