Benigno "Benny" Gonzalez, 72, of De Soto died April 4, 2024, in Crystal City. Mr. Gonzalez worked as a welder and carman for Union Pacific until retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting and customizing Hot Wheels and building things for his grandchildren. Born Feb. 9, 1952, in Colorado City, Texas, where he was raised with 11 brothers and sisters, he was the son of the late Porfiria (Gonzales) and Nemecino Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife of more than 52 years: Rosalinda (Aleman) Gonzalez of De Soto; two sons: Daniel (Maddie Fortner) Gonzalez of Cadet and Richard Gonzalez of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren: Lincoln, Selena, Mario and Shantel; three great-grandchildren: Toka, Oma and Estevan; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 11, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Mahn St. and Mahn Ave, in De Soto. A graveside service and burial will follow in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery, Hwy. 110 North, in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
