Anthony Masterson, 71, of Festus died June 6, 2026, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. Mr. Masterson was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired deputy sheriff for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and a member of VFW 3777, American Legion 253, Elks 1721, Amvets 42 and the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club. He was an avid motorcycle rider who enjoyed traveling across America on his Harley. He loved playing his guitar and playing computer games with his brothers and friends. He loved his animals and enjoyed spending time outside. Most of all, he loved spending time with his son, daughter-in-law and his granddaughters. Born June 16, 1954, in Watervliet, Mich., he was the son of the late Evelyn (Gilbert) DeClue and Charles Sherman Masterson.
He is survived by his wife: Kathy S. (Roth) Masterson; a son: Nicholas (Stephanie) Masterson of Hillsboro; a sister: Joan (Randy) Beck of Bonne Terre; two brothers: David (Angela) Masterson of Festus and Donald DeClue of Herculaneum; three grandchildren: Annabelle, Claire and Emelia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Father Zac Povis. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
