Floyd, michael

Michael Patrick Floyd, 51, of De Soto died Nov. 29, 2022, at his home. Mr. Floyd was a graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla and a U.S. Navy veteran  and worked as a superintendent for Brinkmann Constructors. He enjoyed traveling, math and playing chess, and was passionate about his family and his pets. Born Aug. 15, 1971, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Bonnie Jean Floyd.

He is survived by his wife of nine years: Tammy (Missey) Floyd, whom he married on Aug. 10, 2013, in De Soto; a daughter: Alyssa Coleman of De Soto; a son: Ethan King of De Soto; a grandson: Jackson King of De Soto; a sister: Laura (Lawrence) Krodinger of De Soto; six nieces and nephews: Conner Krodinger , Payten Krodinge , Ayden Missey, Koleby Missey and Hannah Pratt, all of De Soto; and his mother-in-law: Lisa Missey of De Soto. He was preceded in death by his Papa and Nana: Morrell and Jean Zent; his father-in-law: Mark Missey; and a nephew: Lawrence “Trey” Krodinger III.

Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
