Melba Jean Wilson, 91, of Festus died March 24, 2023, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Home in Crystal City. Mrs. Wilson loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outside and working in her yard. Born Feb. 16, 1932, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Jane (Nix) and William B. Cadwallader.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: William “Bill” Edwards; and her second husband: Donald W. Wilson.
She is survived by two children: William “Chris” (Vickie) Edwards of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tammy (Chris) Linderer of Crystal City; four grandchildren: Brian (Kimberlea) Edwards, Shannon (Jeremy) Wilson, Lindsey Kolo and Cole (Emily McCreary) Linderer; and nine great-grandchildren: Ellis and Ruby Kolo, Piper Linderer, Tucker and Kyla Bremer, Bryce and Brinleigh Edwards, and Jaylea and Landry Wilson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Melisa Edwards; and two brothers: Francis L. (the late Yvonne) Cadwallader and William E. Cadwallader.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Kayla Roe. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Helping Hands & Horses. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
