Mary Jo (Henenberg) Braun, 82, of Arnold died May 16, 2022, at Woodland Manor in Arnold. Mrs. Braun was a retired travel agent. She was Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus and Mensa. She loved fruitcake, and she enjoyed traveling, using a pen to work crossword puzzles, playing scratch-offs, going to quilt socials, attending the Weingarten and Lawrenceton picnics and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. Born Dec. 31, 1939, in Wellston, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Higgins) and Clarence Henenberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years: Francis A. “Tony” Braun.
She is survived by two children: Mark F. (Jeanie) Braun of Blue Eye and Kelly (Bill) Swaller of Goshen, Ind.; two grandchildren: Jamie (Nigel) Oaks of Elkhart, Ind. Cory Swaller of Goshen, Ind.; two step-grandchildren: Christine Lindsay of Lisle, Ill., and Bradley (Krystal) Eckhoff of New Melle; two great-grandchildren: Brodie and Emery Oaks of Elkhart, Ind.; four step-great-grandchildren: Cody and Hunter Weise of Lisle, Ill., and Levi and Lane Eckhoff of New Melle; two siblings: Clarence (Connie) Henenberg of Oakville and Norman (Mary Jane Cannon) Henenberg of Folsom, La.; and a sister-in-law: Janet (Gerry) Bachmann of Eureka.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Nicole Swaller.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, at St. David Catholic Church, 2334 Tenbrook Road, in Arnold, officiated by Father Charles Ferrara. Memorials may be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. David Arrangements are under the direction of St. Louis Cremation.
