Mary Haynes Blanks, 83, of De Soto died March 14, 202, at her home. Mrs. Blanks was an LPN and had worked at Cedar Grove Nursing Home. She was born July 29, 1937, in De Soto, the daughter of the late John and Clara Mae (Boyd) Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Blanks.
She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Rodgers of De Soto, Djuna Jones of Lee’s Summit and Glenda Haynes Blanks of De Soto; a stepdaughter: Nicole Haynes Carpenter; a sister: Cora Franklin; a sister-in-law: Peggy Bingham; a brother-in-law: Kenneth Dow; six grandchildren: Jamie Rodgers, Jewl Allen, Ford Sanders, Alexis Sanders, Dazion Jones and Dion Jones; and three great-grandchildren: Lamont Allen, Diahvian Allen and Jajuan Welch.
She wais preceded in death by one grandchild: Germaine Beasley; a sister: Vivian Redmond; and three brothers: Charles Carter, Adolph Carter and Levi Carter.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home
