Marvin Walter Jeffers, 78, of Pevely died Dec. 4, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Jeffers was a retired systems analyst for Anheuser Busch Brewery. He served in the National Guard and was a former alderman for the city of Pevely and a member of Arnold Elks Lodge 3372. He was born July 24, 1942, in Gassville, Ark., the son of the late Lauretta M. (Grant) and Marion W. Jeffers.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy “Tootie” (Schweigert) Jeffers; two sons: Kris M. Jeffers of Jackson and Kurt M. Jeffers of Imperial; and five grandchildren: Jordan (Samantha) Jeffers, Jack Jeffers, Joey Jeffers, Cory Jeffers and Catherine Hicks.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Marlene F. Sheldon and Marian M. Arnold.
A memorial gathering is at 3 p.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Father Daniel Shaughnessy. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or in the form of Masses in Mr. Jeffers’ honor. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
