Marvin Lee Sims, 78, of Pevely died Feb. 1, 2021, at his home. Mr. Sims was retired from the Unimin sand plant in Pevely, where he worked for more than 34 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved attending horse shows. Born Aug. 3, 1942, in Pevely, he was the son of the late Edith Mae (Ochsenknecht) and Elmer Lindell Sims.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Brenda (Hughes) Sims; two sons: Bryan (Janet) Sims of Dupo, Ill., and Jefferey (Kim) Sims of Pevely; a sister: Brenda (Dennis) Kackley of Festus; four grandchildren: Amy (Dan) Loesch, Kyle (Ivonne) Sims, and Shelby and Travis Sims; and five great-grandchildren: Alena, Bentley, Avyn and Rilyn Loesch, and Alex Sims.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
