Marion Sue (Vaughn) Forshee, 81, of Scottsville, Ky., formerly of De Soto, died Jan. 16, 2017, in Scottsville. Mrs. Forshee was a homemaker and had served as a volunteer with the Medical Center at Scottsville. She was a member of Meador Homemakers and donated many charity quilts to the Cruiser Quilt Project. She especially enjoyed John Wayne movies, hummingbirds and anything purple. Born June 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dora (Cole) Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gene Forshee, who died Jan. 16, 1995.
She is survived by a son: Steve Forshee of Madison, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews, including Dale Haverstick of Hillsboro; and friends Jane Berry and Ray, Janis and Joshua Steele, all of Scottsville. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Lavonia Haverstick, Bernice Reynolds, Elsie Boyer and Elizabeth Krodinger.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
