Marian Warden, 92, of Festus died Oct. 19, 2022. Mrs. Warden had attended Second Baptist Church in Festus since 1955 and was believed to be the longest-enrolled member. She enjoyed reading her Bible and was known for her kindness to others, her faithfulness in serving her church and for her sweet smile. Born July 6, 1930, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Edith (Busch) Litton. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jacob Isaac Warden.
She is survived by two children: Robert (Donna) Warden of Decatur, Ill., and Katherine (Arthur) Kohlberg of Barnhart; a brother: Sam (Virginia) Litton of Herculaneum; a sister-in-law: Anita (the late Everett) Litton of Festus; seven grandchildren: Robin (Troy) Reifsteck, Melody (Brennen) Wood, Alexander Kohlberg, Peter Kohlberg, Michael (Shawna) Warden Jr., Sabrina Warden and Jacob Warden; and seven great-grandchildren: Brandon Nelson, Bailee Reifsteck, Mason Wood, Zachary Wood, Madison Wood, Michael Warden III and Gabriel Warden.
She was preceded in death by a son: Michael Warden; four sisters: Helen (Roy) Struthers, Edna Faulkner, Mildred (Norvel) Lucas and Dorothy Litton; and five brothers: George (Fern), Donald (Isabelle), Bobby Ray, Everett and Tom (Linda) Litton.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Second Baptist Church, 723 Horine Rd., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. James King and the Rev. Randy Casey. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to World Missions Bearing Precious Seed. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
