Margaret Elizabeth “Marge” Alderson, 95, of Festus died March 28, 2023, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Alderson was a beautician and a Pink Lady for Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus. She loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed attending church events, swimming, attending musical programs and having visitors. Born Nov. 28, 1927, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Bertha E. (Eichelberger) and Frank P. Siebert.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John “Ed” Alderson.
She is survived by three children: Connie (Ralph) Stubblefield of Crystal City, Kathleen (the late Larry) Gleich of Festus and Gary Alderson of south St. Louis County; eight grandchildren: Sarah (Tony) Joiner, Alex Alderson, Michael (Isa) Stubblefield, Jonathan Stubblefield, Natalie (Alex) Myles, Bryan (Rachel) Wilkinson, Christopher “CJ” (Ashley) Gleich and Justin Gleich; and 11 great-grandchildren: Logan, Johnny, Parker, Everett, Jasmine, Luke, Grant, Rose, Conner, Paige, and Brynna.
She was preceded in death by her son: Gilbert (Nona of De Soto survives) Alderson; her brother: Frank (the late Shirley) Siebert; her brother-in-law: Vester (the late Bertha) Alderson; two sisters-in-law: Eileen (the late Paul) Bradford and Dorothy (the late Heber) Cox.
A memorial gathering will be from 10 a.m. until a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Memorials may be made to Our Lady St. Vincent De Paul Society or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
