Louis Jacob “Lou” Bregant, 52, Hillsboro

Louis Jacob “Lou” Bregant, 52, of Hillsboro died April 23, 2021, at his home. Mr. Bregant was a store manager at Buchheit in Herculaneum, where he made many friends. He was a member of Elks Post 1721 and a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop Post 547 in Hillsboro. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at a very young age, making him at the time one of the youngest Eagle Scouts in Missouri. He enjoyed playing poker, going camping and fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his children. Born Oct. 17, 1968, in Bossier City, La., he was the son of the late Carmen Mary (Sariego) Bregant.

He is survived by his former wife: Angie (Moore) Bregant of Fenton; two sons: Michael Bregant and Jacob Bregant, both of Fenton; a daughter: Sydney Bregant of Fenton; a brother: Mark Christopher Bregant of St. Charles; a best friend: Chad Alley of Tampa, Fla.; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday (April 30) at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (May 1) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
