Linda Jean Sidman, 65, of Festus died June 22, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Sidman was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing Christmas gifts for the Siteman Cancer Society, cooking, baking, going to musicals and spending time with her family. Born July 1, 1952, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Bettye Jean (Sutton) Avery of Festus and the late James Medley.
She is survived by three daughters: Shawn (Richard Jr.) Whaley of Hillsboro, Kimberly Richardet of Festus and Dahvia Sanderson of Festus; two brothers: Timothy (Kathy) Shelley of Festus and David (Carol) Shelley of Pevely; two stepsiblings: John Avery Jr. of St. Louis and Debbie (Jim) Gebert of St. Louis; and five grandchildren: Zachary Whaley, Alex Whaley, Ariana Richardet, Nehemiah Sanderson and Levi Sanderson.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather: John “Jack” Avery.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 North Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at the funeral home, officiated by Aaron Sutton. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
