
Leila W. Kirchhoff, 93, of Columbia, formerly of Arnold, died July 13, 2021, at Lenoir Woods Retirement Community in Columbia. Mrs. Kirchhoff was a nurse at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County. As a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ, she provided doughnuts, coffee and flowers for Sunday services and led the church’s quilting group. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, quilting, baking cookies, family activities and helping others. Born Aug. 31, 1927, in Highland, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Caroline and William Schrumpf.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Kirchhoff, whom she married May 6, 1950.
She is survived by four children: Barry (Jolene) Kirchhoff of Columbia, Tim (Bonnie) Kirchhoff of Barnhart, Allen Kirchhoff of Hazelwood and Lisa (Robert) Hall of Taos; nine grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Wallace Schrumpf; a daughter: Gail (Kirchhoff) Hoffman; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at St. Mark United Church of Christ, 1862 Missouri State Road, in Arnold. Memorials may be made to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, Arnold.
