Larry Linnemeyer, 73, of Blackwell, died May 29, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Linnemeyer was a firefighter and served in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a volunteer firefighter for Spanish Lake, a firefighter for University City, fire chief for Sikeston, a bomb and arson investigator for the state of Missouri and fire chief for St. Charles. He was a member of the Professional Fire Fraud Investigators Association and the Kruiser Car Club, and enjoyed hunting, woodworking, yard work, and being outdoors. Born June 14, 1943, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Charles Linnemeyer and Eleanor (Schottman) Linnemeyer.
He is survived by his wife: Renza (Junk) Linnemeyer of Blackwell; a son: Larry (Tammy) Linnemeyer of St. Louis; two daughters: Linda Linnemeyer of Union and Kimberly (Whitney) Jackson of San Francisco, Calif.; a brother: Charlie (Linda) Linnemeyer of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a sister: Donna (Robert) Plummer of Edwardsville, Ill.; and six grandchildren: Amanda, Hallie, Tad, Nicole and Todd Linnemeyer and Becky Psalmonds.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, at the funeral home. Burial is in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 77 West Port Plaza, Suite 101, St. Louis, 63146.
