Junior Ray Green, 78, of De Soto died Feb. 20, 2020, at Festus Manor Nursing Center. Mr. Green was a retired shipbuilder who worked many years as a lead man for the St. Louis Ship and Steel Co. He was a member of the Free Trinity Pentecostal Church of Marston. He enjoyed gardening, family reunions, gospel music, church services and spending time with his family. Born March 31, 1941, in Greenbrier, he was the son of the late Christine (Storz) and Linus Green.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Annie (Peek) Green.
He is survived by four children: Steve Green of French Village, Kenny Green of De Soto, Jeffrey Green of Perryville and Debbie (Joe) Jakoubek of De Soto; two brothers: Dennis Green of Imperial and Richard (Kathy) Green of Pevely; two sisters: Geraldine (Don) Strange of De Soto and Brenda Green of Affton; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Randy Green, Theodore Green, Burette Green and Eldon Green; and four sisters: Janette Creason, Loretta Thorn, Charlotte Warner and Vivian Green.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Derek Jones. Burial will be at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis 63108. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
