Joyce A. Laratta, 64, of De Soto died Dec. 28, 2022, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Ms. Laratta loved kittens and had a fondness for fun-sized Snickers. Born June 20, 1958, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Charlotte (Kite) Laratta of De Soto and the late William Laratta.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister: Susan (the late Donald A.) Chandler of De Soto; two aunts: Georgetta (the late Chad) Thompson and Ethel (the late William) Wilson, both of De Soto; a number of cousins, including Stella, Natasha, and Niko; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Earl and Lucy Kite; an aunt: Cora (David) Hamman; and two uncles: Edgar Kite and Luther Kite.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Saturday, Dec. 31, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Bob Siebels. Burial is in the Luckey Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to National Alliance Mental Illness, P.O. Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297.
