Jimmie Lee Rathburn, 77, House Springs

Jimmie Lee Rathburn, 77, of House Springs died April 24, 2021, at his home. Mr. Rathburn was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1961-1964. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, traveling with his wife and camping with his family. He had a good sense of humor and will be remembered for taking care of his family, friends, neighbors and community. Born Oct. 20, 1943, in Vandalia, he was the son of the late John William and Lula B. (Lea) Rathburn.

He is survived by his wife: Elmary Yvonne (Haggard) Rathburn, whom he married in February 1971. He also is survived by a daughter: Angela (Douglas) Dunnegan of Cedar Hill; a grandson: Cody James Dunnegan; and many other family members and friends.

He also was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Allysa Dunnegan; and four siblings: Everett (Theodore) Rathburn, Ellen Marie “Sis” Flynn, William Ashley “Buz” Rathburn and John Leroy “Roy” Rathburn.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday (May 22) at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
